Our research

Meet a vibrant research community! At the Jewish Museum Trondheim, we study everything from Norwegian-Jewish migration history to degradation processes in museum objects. Here you can read about our projects, publications and collaborations with NTNU, among others – and maybe get inspiration for a bachelor's, master's or PhD thesis!

Research projects

Behind every object, every image and every story in the museum lie questions that have not yet been fully answered. Our research projects seek to document, but also to understand – to open space for reflection and wonder about identity, belonging, memory and historical injustice. Through collaboration with academic circles and our own initiatives, we bring forth new perspectives on Norwegian-Jewish life, migration, the post-war period and knowledge production – and show how the past continues to shape the present.
