Purim party! Family day at the Jewish Museum Trondheim

2/26/25, 10:00 AM

Join us for a colorful day at the museum!

On Sunday, March 9, we will be hosting a creative workshop at the museum to mark the holiday of Purim – a joyful Jewish holiday with a carnival atmosphere!

Purim is celebrated this year on March 13 and 14. During the holiday, the story of Esther, who was queen of Persia, is told. Plans were made by the evil person Haman to exterminate the Jews, but Esther, together with others, managed to save the Jewish people from extermination. An important part of the story is that she initially kept her Jewish identity hidden, so a costume party is a very common part of the holiday. At the creative workshop, children will have the opportunity to make their own mask, so they can dress up.

Of course, the children can take the mask home!

On this day, there will be free admission to the museum for young and old.

In the museum café we serve baked goods from the Jewish kitchen, more specifically "hamantaschen" which is common during Purim. Come by for an educational day filled with joy and creativity! We look forward to seeing you at the Jewish Museum Trondheim!

The offer is free and open to everyone. No advance registration is necessary, but please show your interest via this Facebook event.
