Pesach in Trondheim: learn about the Jewish celebration!

3/28/25, 10:00 AM

Learn about the Jewish Passover celebration with Henriette Kahn and Nikolai Vollik!

Passover is one of the most important holidays in the Jewish calendar. It marks the Israelites' journey through the desert - away from slavery in Egypt - and towards freedom in the land of Canaan led by Moses.

In this presentation, Henriette Kahn and Nikolai Vollik invite you into the Jewish traditions. You will hear stories, symbols and customs associated with Passover - and you will learn about matza, carpas and other small dishes that form a central part of the traditional Seder meal. Maybe you will get a taste of it too!

Join us and experience how old stories and living traditions still bind generations together. Why do children always have to ask adults the same four questions?

This year, Passover begins on the evening of April 12, and almost coincides with Passover this year. This way, you will get a taste of this year's celebration, two days in advance!

Henriette Kahn and Nikolai Vollik are both active members and contributors to the Jewish Community in Trondheim, and have extensive experience and knowledge of Jewish traditions, as well as Trondheim's Jewish history. They have given a number of different lectures on Jewish topics. They were most recently seen at the Jewish Cultural Festival 2024 with the lecture "Symbolism in objects and textiles in the synagogue in Trondheim".

Time: Thursday, April 10 at 6:00 PM

Venue: Architect Christies gate 1b

The event is free and open to everyone. The lecture is in Norwegian.

Welcome!
