PROGRAM:
AT 4:00 PM – EXHIBITION OPENING IN THE BACKYARD
We will open our backyard exhibition “The Synagogue through 100 Years”. There will be presentations from the Jewish Community in Trondheim and Terje Bratberg, who is currently writing the book “The Synagogue in Trondheim”.

AT 6:00 PM – EXCLUSIVE FILM SCREENING AND Q&A WITH DIRECTOR: “SABBATH QUEEN”
We invite you to an exclusive film screening of the award-winning “Sabbath Queen”! We will also be visited by the director, Sandi DuBowski.

ABOUT THE FILM: “Sabbath Queen,” filmed over 21 years, follows Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie’s journey as the dynastic heir to 38 generations of Orthodox rabbis, including Israel’s Chief Rabbis. Torn between rejecting and embracing his destiny, he becomes a drag queen rebel, a queer dad, and the founder of Lab/Shul—a non-profit, God-willing, artist-driven, pop-up experimental congregation. Sabbath Queen joins Amichai on a lifelong quest to creatively and radically reinvent religion and ritual, challenge patriarchy and supremacy, fight for interfaith love, and stand up for peace. The film questions what Jewish survival means in a difficult and rapidly changing 21st century.
