The Jewish Museum Trondheim has received 250,000 kroner from the Schrøder Foundation for important work to secure and make the museum's photo collection available.

The support makes it possible to re-digitize large parts of the museum's photo collection according to current standards. The collection consists of around 6,000 historical photographs that document Norwegian-Jewish history north of Dovre from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day.

Approximately 4,000 of the images were digitized many years ago, in low resolution and in jpeg format. Now these will be digitized again in high resolution and in archive format, so that the material can be better preserved for the future.
The project will both strengthen the long-term preservation of an important part of our cultural heritage and make the collection more accessible to the public and research. The new digitization will also better facilitate publication and sharing through Digitalt Museum.
